About Us

Mission

The Taiwanese American Society at Yale is an undergraduate student organization dedicated to promoting awareness of cultural, political, and social aspects of Taiwanese American culture and fostering the Asian American community at Yale. Yale TAS is non-exclusive and embraces with open arms all who are interested in joining the organization. From learning how to fold dumplings to sampling authentic Taiwanese dishes, from becoming a Big Sib for adopted Chinese children in CASPY to bonding with a TAS family, there is room for everyone to participate. Above all, TAS is a warm and diverse family of friends.

History of TAS

The Taiwanese Club was originally founded in 1991 to foster an awareness of Taiwanese language and culture at Yale University. From that time this group has evolved a great deal as a student organization. In fact, this organization was recently renamed the Yale College Taiwanese American Society (TAS for short) in order to integrate the American dimension that all possess from living or studying in this country.

Learn About TAS!

Want to know more about TAS? Thinking about joining? Fantastic! A great place to start is the TAS Constitution. But probably the best way to get a taste of what TAS is really like is to just come to one of our meetings or events. And we mean taste in both the figurative and literal sense-- TAS food events never disappoint. But even though TAS is well known for our delicious food, we are more about fun and friendship and the close bonds between our members. As one of the most diverse cultural groups on campus, we always welcome any and everyone to join our great big TAS family! So check out our upcoming events and come hang out with us!
